- Right Book
Pause
· This means WAIT. Don’t tell, don’t signal. Give the child a chance to THINK.
Praise
· This makes your child feel good about him or herself and good about reading.
Prompt
· If your child makes a mistake that doesn’t make sense, help him or her correct it.
Probe
· Comprehension is reinforced when you discuss the content of the material before, during and after reading.
Modern Fables

We havebeen reading some interesting modern fables online in class. If you want to read some at home, go to: www.fablevision.com/place/library/index.html.
Aesop's Fables

In Ruma Karaka, we have been looking at Aesop's fables! We went to Upper Hutt to see a couple of men. They performed some fable stories. The stories were
The Boy Who Cried Wolf,
The Goose That Layed The Golden Eggs and
The Hare And The Turtle! When they sang the songs, they were actually telling us what the MORALwas and what the story was ABOUT! The men dressed up for the stories and showed us WHO was in that story. We enjoed the show and we hope you enjoyed our writing!
