Modern Fables

We havebeen reading some interesting modern fables online in class. If you want to read some at home, go to: www.fablevision.com/place/library/index.html.

Aesop's Fables

In Ruma Karaka, we have been looking at Aesop's fables! We went to Upper Hutt to see a couple of men. They performed some fable stories. The stories were The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Goose That Layed The Golden Eggs and The Hare And The Turtle! When they sang the songs, they were actually telling us what the MORALwas and what the story was ABOUT! The men dressed up for the stories and showed us WHO was in that story. We enjoed the show and we hope you enjoyed our writing!

Butterfly Days

Hi Here are some of our monarch caterpillars that are quite fat. Sometimes when they are babies the monarch caterpillars are very small and hard to see.

This is a chrysalis at the start of his two weeks inside. The reason they are called monarch butterflies because they have yellow spots like a crown.

This is a monarch butterfly almost at the end of it's chrysalis life. As you can see the monarch butterfly is about to hatch.

This monach butterfly has just hatched from it's chrysalis! The monarch butterfly's body is so fat because the blood is in the back of it's body. It is pumping the blood into it's wings.

This monarch butterfly is almost ready to fly. The monarch buterfly is drying it's wings! By Harrison and Samuel.
